Under UKA Rules with Chip Timing
Athletes must have a Sussex County affiliation through either birth or nine months continuous residence in the county prior to the date of competition and must also be affiliated to England Athletics via their club. Club vests must be worn.
Ages as of midnight 31st August/1st September 2025. Under current rules U20s “shall be confined to competitors who are aged 17, 18 or 19 on 31st August prior to commencement of the competition year.” Additional rules apply for under 20s for national inter county selection (see below).

U20s will wear different colour bibs to differentiate from seniors.
INDIVIDUAL & TEAM AWARDS – Medals awarded to first three in each age group (including U11s) and also to the first three teams in each race (except U11) – 3 to score except Senior Women (4 to score) and Senior Men (6 to score). Club vests must be worn to be eligible for awards.
Presentation of awards will take place as soon as is practical after the results are available and proceedings allow.
The first four to finish in the county championships are selected for the National Inter Counties. Additional runners are selected by the team manager based on recent performances. Junior Athletes are expected to have demonstrated their experience and ability at a minimum of 2 cross-county course races organised by Sussex AA, SEAA or UKA for consideration for both the above events.
The final teams will consist of runners and reserves, with a maximum of 8 runners in all races except the seniors where 9 athletes per team are able to compete on the day. Please note U20M and U20W must be still under 20 on 31st December 2026. There is no U11 age group at the inter counties.

DATA PROTECTION & MUSIC – In entering this event, athletes agree to Sussex AA publishing personal info for results & passing such information on to the gov body &/or affiliated organisations. Data is also used for info on future events. Athletes and spectators should be aware music is sometimes played at our events. If this is something that causes discomfort, please act accordingly by bringing ear defenders or similar.
