30 March, 2018 By Sussex AA

Bethany Cook helped the English Schools to victory in the Junior Girls race at the Schools International Cross-country event at Nottingham last weekend.

Cook, who has certainly been the outstanding Sussex cross-country runner this season winning every one of her races until she reached the English Schools championships.

Again Bea Wood from Wiltshire, who appears to have come rather late to what has been a hard and muddy season, got the better of the encounter.

Cook who has raced in all the major races since October, apart from the National last month, took second place behind Wood clocking 14:27 to the winner’s 14:04.

A trio of senior boys have compiled a vlog which will be available via the Schools Championships pages.

Warming up for his 1500 metres in the forthcoming Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast in just over one week’s time Charlie De’Val Grice finished third in an international 800 metres in Queensland in 1:48.41s.

“Easter Open” on Sunday which should be the best day of the Easter Break. The forecast for Crawley is light cloud and breezy.
