The accent is very much on the youngsters this weekend with the main event being the South of England U13/15 and 17 championships at Ashford on both Saturday and Sunday.
Many Sussex athletes are expected to compete while it is known that several of the leading performers in these age group are away on holiday.
It is hoped that they will all be back in action at the National U15/17 championships at Bedford at the end of the month.
Athletics will start today in Rio with Jessica Ennis-Hill, Katarina Johnson-Thomson, Greg Rutherford and Mo Farah all in action this weekend though we have to wait a couple days before Monday when Seb Rodger, Rob Mullett and Jade Lally are in action while Charlie Grice has to wait until Tuesday.
