Two Golds And A Bronze For Sussex Teams At The Palace

There were six top ten places for Sussex teams in the South of England Road Relay championships at Crystal Place on Sunday.

In the W40 category Arena 80 finished in gold position in 1:10.27 while the Brighton and Hove VM50 team matched the accolade in 1:19.43.

Earlier in the day, the U17 women from Brighton Phoenix ran superbly to finish third. Poppy Palmer-Malins clocked the fastest time (11:32.40) out of the three, but team-mates Alice Wright and Milly Dickinson also ran solid legs to take the medal.

The Brighton and Hove A team were 20^th, Crawley 34^th and the Brighton and Hove B team in 43^rd.

In the Under 13 girls’ race, Crawley finished in an impressive 9^th place with the Brighton and Hove  team not far behind in 12^th. Brighton and Hove had four teams competing in this category. In the U13 boys’ race Brighton were 22^nd with Crawley 25^th.

Crawley were on form again in the Under 15 boys’ race coming in 6^th, with Luke Newton running a storming 10:18.45. In the Under 15 girls’ race the Crawley team were 16^th and the Brighton and Hove A 19^th.
