It is with deep regret that we announce the death of former Sussex AA athlete Timothy Medcalf at the age of 46.
Tim competed regularly for East Grinstead AC from under 13s to seniors and was a keen triple and long jumper with bests of 14.11 and 6.56 metres. Still ranked on the top 10 list in the county for triple jump, as a youngster he won numerous county championships as well as competed for the county at the English Schools Champs and inter county fixtures.
His father, Lester, is still a familiar face in the county and is a very valued county official.
Tim had been suffering with Cancer for some time before passing away last week.
Our thoughts are with his wife, two children and all his family.
