The Weekend’s Battles

Eight Sussex Schools athletes have been included in the “Schools Games” at the weekend at Loughborough but for these purposes Sussex is included in the South West team.

Amber Anning (Brighton) will be running the 300m, Josh Eeles (Horsham) 1500m, Lillie Franks (Crawley) high jump, Jack Harris (Lewes) pole vault, Daniel Thomas (Eastbourne) shot, Vicki Pellett (East Grinstead) hammer throw, Edan Cole (Brighton) javelin and Jordan Okanta (Worthing) 100 and 400m Ambulant.

The Schools Games covers a raft of sports and athletics will be held on Friday.

Also on Friday evening the final of the Sussex Under 15 League will be held at Crawley’s K2 area, as work is being carried out on the floodlighting at the Withdean Stadium, with the first event at 6.15.

On Sunday it is the turn of the Sussex Under 13 League to hold their final and this will also be held at K2 starting at 12.30.
