Sixty-seven of Sussex’s most talented Sportshall athletes will be making their way to Burgess Hill today for the regional finals.
First off is the under 11s Festival of Fun in Athletics at 1030. It tests the all round skills of the youngest athletes. From balancing, throwing, jumping vertically and horizontally and running, the U11s will find themselves up against the leading Sportshall athletes from across the south east region. They will be competing against Surrey, Kent, Hampshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.
From 1430 it is the turn of the under 13s and under 15s. Vittorio Anah of Crawley has been the star of Sussex Sportshall this season. He has broken two longstanding records in the vertical jump and standing long jump and looks set to do well in the All-Rounder competition.
Vittorio is joined by two of his younger siblings under 11 Adanna and under 13 Cristiano. We believe that this is the first time a trio of siblings have competed across different age groups in the same Sussex regional Sportshall event.
Good luck to all our young athletes.
