Eleanor Strevens kicked off 2025 with a gold medal at the Cross International Juan Muguerza (Elgoibar Cross Country) at the weekend.
The Eastbourne under 20 was one of four Sussex athletes selected to represent Great Britain at the annual event, held in the Basque region of Spain.
She finished the Junior Women race 10 seconds ahead of GB team mate Zoe Gilbody.
In the respective Junior Men's race, Brighton Phoenix's Miles Waterworth placed 15th, whilst there were two top ten finishers in the Senior Men's contest.
Tomer Tarragano (Brighton & Hove) was ninth and Jacob Cann (Horsham) 10th.
