Sussex League at Stanmer

2 December, 2016 By Sussex AA

Sussex cross-country running returns to Stanmer Park, Brighton on Saturday after a gap of several years when the third of this season’s Cross Country League events dominates the weekend’s athletics.

Stanmer Park had traditionally been the home of the County Championships which are held at the turn of the year until annual visits by travellers had put the facility out of use over the Christmas/New Year period.

Fields have been good for the previous two races at Goodwood and Lancing this season and it is expected that Saturday’s event will attract near record line ups.

Preceding the League events, which start a 12.30 will be the Under 11 races with the Girls starting at 12.00 and the Boys at 12.10.

Parking for the event will be in the Amex Stadium and athletes and supporters are advised to stay on the A27 and take the Falmer Exit to the Albion’s ground (Bennett’s Car Park) and a short walk through the underpass will take you to the course.

                                                                                        PARKING INSTRUCTIONS

The parking arrangements for the Sussex Cross Country league races on December 3rd will be at the Brighton & Hove Albion F C  AMEX Stadium, where there will be ample parking spaces for all athletes.

These are accessed via the Falmer Junction on the A27.

Instructions when you approach the stadium you enter the car park on your right where there is a security hut. Please ask for the Bennetts car park which is on the bottom right. From the car park just walk down on the right of the stadium, past the East Stand carry on down and then over the railway foot bridge and then you turn down left under the under pass. When you see the Sussex University sign turn left till you meet a small side road, cross over and about 100 yards you turn right into the park.

It took me just 10 minutes.

Could you please put up the club tents on your right of the park, of the football pitches.

PARKING INSIDE THE PARK IS FOR THE OFFICIALS, MARSHALL'S and HELPERS ONLY PLEASE, AS THERE ARE ONLY LIMITED SPACES.

Hope this is o k any queries please contact Peter Witcomb on peterwitcomb@hotmail.com
