So the focus is now on 2022 and to make the SGP a more attractive competition for club runners of all standards.
The SGP ethos has always been to provide an engaging competition for all Sussex club runners: fast, slow, young, old, experienced and beginners — and this remains.
I’ll be interested in suggestions and comments (good and bad) from Sussex runners who have or haven’t participated in the past.
There’s a comment form via this link
https://sussexgrandprix.co.uk/news/2021/sgp-june-2021-update/
Please use it and help us use this time of redevelopment to create a more motivating and attractive competition.
For example:
- What are your views on the use of chip timing for allocating points? Does it adversely affect the racing experience or does it provide more inclusivity for slower runners?
- Are too many qualifying races required (currently 6), or not enough?
- Are there too many races on the calendar (currently 12)?
- Should the SGP continue to prioritise the inclusion of club-organised races over commercially staged races?
- Are more off-road races wanted?
Additionally, I am open to offers of help within the organisation, particularly the coordinating and compiling of results.
