Sussex Combined Events

8 September, 2016 By Sussex AA

This weekend sees the last of the Sussex championships for this track season with the Combined Events championships being held in conjunction with the Surrey championships at Sutton in Surrey on Saturday and Sunday.

Were it not for the Girls/Women however entries would be sparse.

The younger age are quite well represented with the two Under 13 events and U15 Girls all attracting fields into double figures while the U15 girls have nine entries and these four events look like producing  good quality battles with the Horsham all-rounders Ruby Jerges and Cleo Tomlinson setting the pace in the U13 Girl’s Pentathlon  while Crawley’s Daniel Tewogbade looking a strong contender in the Boy’s group though Chichester’s Oliver Breach is a powerful middle distance runner and many points can be amassed in the final 800 metres.

There are a group of potential medallists in the U15 Girl’s pentathlon with probably Eastbourne Calysta Morris the favourite while Crawley athletes Lillie Franks and Natasha Purchase are likely to battle out the U17 Heptathlon with Chichester’s Alyssa White.
