Sportshall Success

15 April, 2025 By Kate Matthews

It was smiles all round for the Sussex under 15 girls team at the UK Sportshall Finals at the weekend.

The team, made of six athletes from across the county, came away with a team bronze and five individual medals, at the national event held in Stoke.

They had qualified after placing second at the South East Regional competition back in February.

Individual medals went to Adanna Anah  (Crawley) winning gold in the shot put, Ella Clark (Crawley) silvers in the 2-lap race and together with Isla Pearson (Chichester) in the 8-lap parlauf.

Isla also took silver in the Speed Bounce and Isabel Griggs (Worthing) bronze in the standing long jump.

They were joined on the day by team members Seren Rowe (Brighton & Hove) and Myla Willard Jacobs (Guildford & Godalming).

The Under 15 finals are very much team events and each athlete must compete in 3 events and each event must be contested by 3 athletes from each team. All rounders Myla and Seren, although outside the medals in their events were solid performers in all their events.

Congratulations to all the girls as well as team manager Andy Hall.
