Southern League and London Marathon

23 April, 2015 By Sussex AA

It is the turn of the seniors to start their League season this weekend with the major Sussex clash coming at Hastings on Saturday.

In the Division three South West clash at Hastings no less than four Sussex Clubs will line up against Holland Sports.

East Grinstead, Horsham, Lewes/Haywards Heath and of course the home club are the Sussex quartet in this fixture.

In Division One newly promoted Crawley, who won the Division two championships last year, will clash with current League champions Brighton & Hove at Portsmouth where the home team and near neighbours Southampton will complete the line-up.

Division Two East will see Eastbourne host the match at Eastbourne while Worthing, in Division Two West, will be in action at Parliament Hill and Chichester in Three North West will be in action at Twickenham.

Many Sussex runners are expected to line up for the London Marathon on Sunday and Jon Pepper (Brighton Phoenix), who led the Sussex challenge last year will probably be aiming to better his clocking of 2:19:59.

Kevin Rojas (Brighton & Hove), who was the fastest Sussex marathon runner last year, will be missing this event to concentrate on the Berlin Marathon next month.
