Sussex teams Eastbourne Rovers and Brighton & Hove will be seeking promotion after the final matches in the Southern Athletics League this weekend.
Results from these matches usually take several days to clear but we hope this weekend we will be able to cover at least the team results after the weekend. Team managers could help by forwarding the results to me when they are received.
In Division One, where Crawley are currently the only Sussex team, the North Sussex team is currently lying in 11th place and will be competing at Dartford. This is virtually their “B” team as their first time is call on to compete in the Division two of the British Athletics League.
Eastbourne have had a brilliant season in Division 2 SE and are currently sitting comfortably at the top of the table without dropping a point since the opening match. The top two teams are promoted and Eastbourne are two points clear of Harrow who will be their hosts for this weekend’s competition.
In Division 3 SW Brighton & Hove will have Home advantage at Withdean, and they have only dropped one point this season trailing City of Salisbury with 15 league points to Salisbury’s 16. In the smae matvh Worthing, who are actually the Hosts as the refurbishment of the Worthing track is not completed, are 13th in the league.
In the same Division both Horsham Blue Star 7th and Chichester 7th will clash in their match at Swindon while in Division 3 SE Hastings, who are fourth will be in action at Eltham and East Grinstead 8th and the combined Lewes/Haywards Heath team 11th will be involved in separate matches at Tooting.
