Brighton & Hove will be leading the Sussex challenge at the South of Thames “senior” 7.5 mile cross-country championships at Tonbridge on Saturday.
Unfortunately the Brighton & Hove and Crawley teams had had to miss the South of Thames “junior” 5-mile race last month because of an untimely clash with the Sussex League event at Bexhill. This was a pity as Brighton and Crawley have been consistent supporters of these good class races for many years.
Brighton & Hove Team manager Howard Bristow is expecting Kevin Rojas and Stephen Ferroni to be in action at Tonbridge and is hoping to challenge again for team medals though the home team will probably start as favourites to take the team title.
The Indoor season also opens this weekend at Lee Valley with the South of England Combined Events championships and U20's Beth Crocker (Crawley) and Matt Smith (Brighton & Hove) are expected to lead the Sussex Challenge.
