SAL round 3 round up

Eastbourne Rovers AC is now topping Division 2 East of the Southern Athletic League,  after a home win in their third fixture. Highlights  for the Rovers included  under 20 Bryn Smith's windy 10.6 seconds 100m.  This performance earned Smith male athlete of the match with a score of  896. Elsewhere, Bradley Eisnor jumped a personal best of 1.93m in the high jump, which he backed up with a pole vault PB of 3.61m a well as a 50.8s 400m.
 
Another big point scorer for Eastbourne was Joe Morris who recorded 12.32m shot put and a 3.50m pole vault. Under 20 Moyo Sargent ran a superb 200m in 22.3s and V40 Grant Stirling won the triple jump with 12.56m. For the Eastbourne women, Shania Martlew's 12.5s and 26.1s sprint double was the highlight.  
 
The victory takes Eastbourne to the top of the league, with a victory over Basildon who drop to fourth as a result.  Brighton stay in strong contention for automatic promotion. In their fixture at Chelmsford, veteran Sarah Hewitt was the star performer and female athlete of the match with 793 points for her discus throw of 34.19m.  Not far behind was fellow veteran Julia Machin with an impressive 1.60m High Jump.  
 
Crawley AC was fourth in its Division 1 fixture in West London. Same Heawood's 16.20m shot was a big points scorer for male athlete of the match with 985 points. 
 
In Divison 3 south east Hastings won their half of the fixture with solid performances and a strong team turn out which meant they fielded athletes in most events unlike the other clubs. Caitlin Millar was top female scorer with a 2:20.6 800m which gave her 682 points. 
 
In their home match of this division Lewes AC  and Haywards Heath composite team won with East Grinstead AC in third. Highlights here included Livvy Connors 5.03m/ 11.03m/ 1.50m  Long Jump /Triple Jump / High Jump wins. Connor had the top two female scores with Triple Jump giving her 719 points.
 
Horsham Blue Star were second in their Div 3 south east match at Guildford, behind Hercules Wimbledon. Worthing AC were also at Guildford in another half of the fixture. With a depleted team they were fourth behind Guildford, Herne Hill Harriers and London City AC. Jack Leitch's 14:55.6 5000m gave him man of the match with  788 points. Other notable performances included Leah Harris's 4:46.2 1500m and Charlie Baldwin's 50.4 seconds 400m.
 
Chichester were third in their Div 3 South West fixture at Portsmouth behind Newquay and Par and Portsmouth.
