Eastbourne Rovers AC has won promotion to Division 1 of the Southern Athletic League (SAL). They topped Division 2 east following their second place finish behind Tonbridge in the final fixture last weekend at Woodford Green.
Brighton who were competing in Dartford, but are in the same league, won their fixture but finished third overall and just miss promotion. The Rovers and Tonbridge both move up to Division 1 and a relegated Crawley will join Brighton in Division 2 east.
Highlights for the Rovers included Shania Martlew's, 12.58s 100m victory, under 20’s Bailey Wright’s 10.77s/21.83 100m and 200m second and first place and Moyo Sargent’s 49.7s 400m. In the field Bradley Eisnor continued his great form with a 1.95m high jump and 6.54m long jump and a victory in the pole vault with 3.65m.
In Division 3 south east Hastings came fifth, Horsham Blue Stars sixth, East Grinstead ninth, Worthing 13th and Lewes and Haywards Heath 14th.
Chichester came seventh overall in Division 3 south west .
