Brighton's Kevin Rojas and Worthing's Ben Hawkes have both been called up to represent Great Britain for the first time.
Rojas is one of 10 athletes to have been selected by British Athletics to compete at the IAU 50km World Championships in Brasov, Romania later this year.
The Championships, which take place on 1st September, will be the first edition of the event since 2016, when Great Britain & Northern Ireland won women’s team gold and men’s team silver.
Meanwhile, Hawkes has been selected for the 48-strong GB Junior Team, to compete at the Loughborough International this Sunday. The teenager is presently the second ranked under-20 hammer thrower in the UK, behind US college based Bayley Campbell. He missed out on selection for last year's World Junior championships, despite having the qualifying mark.
In 2019 Hawkes has thrown four of his top five longest throws, including his Championship Best Performance in the County Champs on Saturday. He says his goal is to be in the team for the European U20 Championships in Boras, Sweden in July.
Another teenager, Brighton's European indoor relay silver medallist, Amber Anning, was invited to compete over 400m but declined selection due to her A-Level exams beginning the following day.
