Relays dominate the athletics scene this weekend for the third successive weekend.
This time it is the National Road Relay championships at Sutton Park Birmingham.
Sussex support for South of England championships, two weeks back, was not that great and it was the Brighton & Hove senior men’s team that notched up the highest placing finishing a fine sixth.
Unfortunately they have lost a couple of their six man team but they are still aiming for a Top Twenty five placing.
Last year Brighton Phoenix finished a brilliant 16th but they have not managed to put together a truly representative squad so far this season but if they do, at Birmingham, then they could repeat or even better that placing.
The seniors, both men and women race on Saturday while the Young Athletes compete on Sunday.
Also on Sunday the “Lewes Downland 10-mile”, preceded by the 5-mile Fun Run, is being held from the Lewes Race Course.
The first race, the Fun Run, starts at 10.45.
