At the end of the week, I will be posting the final of 37 regular Sussex Athlete Profiles which Kate Matthews and I started on the 1st of April 2020 to keep the website alive during lockdown.
Since that date, I have produced 33 profiles with the help of Keith May (1), Melanie Anning (1) and Tony Miller (4) while Kate has been beavering away at Athlete and Coach Spotlights. I have also produced seven historical notes.
This does not mean there will not be any more profiles, but they will not be so regular.
I would be particularly interested in contacting former Crawley middle distance/cross-country runner Debbie Peel (nee Chittenden). If anyone has details of her whereabouts, I would be grateful if you could either let me have a contact at reghook@ntlworld.com or let her know that I am trying to contact her.
I am also eager to contact anyone who can lay their hands on the Athletics Weekly that had a history of the Sussex Cross Country League by Martin Duff. He cannot find his copy and I would like to update that, with his permission, and post that on the Sussex website before we commence (fingers crossed) the 2021/2 season Sussex Cross-country League.
I would also hope to continue, as information is received, about other Sussex internationals.
As information comes through, I will still produce those that conform to pretty stringent conditions starting with Olympic or major games' participation or several international appearances over many years and long dedication to Sussex athletics.
