There were podium performances from Sussex athletes at the England Athletic Indoor Champs at the weekend.
Lewes’ Beth Boyes took top spot in the Under 15 girls’ pole vault whilst Grace Tuesday (Lewes) clocked 2:10.75 to win gold in the Under 17 women’s 800m.
For many, the two day U20/U17/U15 event held in Sheffield is a great indication on form in the build up to the summer track and field season.
Other notable Sussex performances included Hope Yelling (Worthing), who was 2nd in the Under 20 women’s triple jump (11.88) and Isabella Akpoveta (Crawley) was third in the Under 17 women’s 200m (24.86).
Isabella had narrowly missed out on a medal in the 60m sprint coming in 4th in 7.71.
Also 4th was Vittorio Anah (Crawley) in the Under 20 men’s triple jump (13.83) and Ava Hayes (Lewes) in the Under 17 women’s pole vault (3.25).
