The Sussex Cross-country League break new ground this weekend when the third of this season’s races are held over new territory, at the Ardingly Show Ground near Haywards Heath.
Ample car parking will be signposted.
Ardingly is no stranger to Cross-country running as for a few years the Haywards Heath Harriers held their traditional Opening event of the season at the show ground but the number of runners did not warrant the cost of the venue. For many years the Sussex Schools Year, seven and eight championships were also held at Ardingly, albeit at the College.
Advance entries for this Saturday’s races are a bit down on those for the previous races at Stanmer Park, last month, and we are already well over four hundred entries.
We may not top the record-breaking six hundred from the previous, race but we could get very close to breaking five hundred again. This would be excellent and will follow a similar pattern of pre Lockdown races.
As usual, the first League races will be the Under 13 Girls at 12.30pm with the Senior/Junior/Masters races ending the afternoon with a 14.35pm start.
There will also be non-league runs for under 11s at 12 noon and 10 past.
