Masters, Medals and Worlds

18 August, 2023 By Melanie Anning

Entries for the Sussex AA  field Events Championships on 10th September at Lewes are open. So far entry numbers are low. This is the first year of a dedicated event in Sussex for our age 35+ athletes, so let's make it a success.

Entries close on 3rd September. Info and details are here: https://data.opentrack.run/en-gb/x/2023/GBR/sxcaa-mfc/

Huge congratulations to Brighton Phoenix athlete Miles Waterworth who secured a silver medal over 800m at the Commonwealth Youth Games in Trinidad and Tobago.

Miles clocked 1:52.51 behind Ken Koech of Kenya's gold medal winning 1:50.14.

Amber Anning

Brighton and Hove's Amber Anning  is in Budapest with the British team preparing to run at the World Championships.

After an outstanding indoor season in which the 22 year old smashed her own Sussex 400m record with a 50.68s clocking and moved to third on the British All-Time lists, she suffered an injury which left her unable to walk for three weeks.

Amber has battled back to form and was selected for the relay squad for Budapest. We wish her luck and will be cheering her on from Sussex.
