Sixteen year old Jordan Okonta from Littlehampton, a member of the Worthing and Littlehampton Special Olympics group held off strong competition to be named as the 2014 Sussex Sports Awards 'Disabled Sports Personality of the Year'.
An accomplished all rounder and double gold medallist at the Special Olympics GB National Games, full-time student Jordan has recently been selected to represent Team GB at the Special Olympics World Games in Los Angeles in July 2015. However unlike at the Olympic Games, Special Olympic athletes are expected to pay their own costs and Jordan's family is striving to raise the £2500 which will enable him to make the trip to this event. Friends and Family have raised half the money so the target is within sight.
