Join Sussex AA for Tea and Cake at the AGM to Remember and Celebrate!

It is a chance to come together and discuss athletics in the county. Over the past year, we've played host to a variety of fantastic events, including cross-country and track & field league fixtures, as well as several major championships.

 

We have welcomed new volunteers and athletes and enjoyed some top performances, such as Amber Anning's medal-winning performance in the World Champs in Budapest. We have also sadly said goodbye to some much-loved Sussex athletics heroes, like Reg Hook and John Luxford.

 

We would like the 20th to provide a celebration of all of this and welcome as many people as possible to join us. It will also provide us with a perfect opportunity to thank all the volunteers and officials who work tirelessly across the year to ensure athletics in the county continues. These dedicated people are trojans constantly event organising, officiating, team managing, website updating, report writing and much more.

 

There are so many ways volunteers can be involved, but the sad and urgent fact is that we desperately need more help. We want to ask you for advice and support on recruiting more bodies.

 

During the evening, members of the committee will be on hand to discuss concerns and let you know who we are and what we do. We are made up of representatives from affiliated clubs across the county. We currently have members from Brighton & Hove, Lewes, Worthing, Horsham Blue Star, Chichester and Steyning.

 

As you know, we represent many more clubs than this. To do this effectively, we need volunteers from other clubs, like Crawley, Haywards Heath, Eastbourne, HY, Hastings, Phoenix and as many as possible, to step forward and join us. I promise we are friendly and it isn't too painful.
