It is with deep regret that we announce the death of Sussex AA and Horsham Blue Star stalwart John Luxford at the age of 89.
John was a valued member of the Club for over 60 years, not only as an athlete but also as a coach, official and team manager, as well as writing reports for the newspaper, driving minibuses and marking out cross-country courses in Denne Park.
He was also hugely involved in the county - a former President of Sussex AA as well as Cross Country Team Manager for many years. Unfortunately, he has not been in the best of health over the last few years. His contribution to athletics, not only for the Club but also for the County, was immense.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
