Inter Counties at Brighton & Hove 10k

16 November, 2018 By Sussex AA

There will be an extra element to this weekend’s Brighton & Hove City 10km Road race from and to the Madeira Drive at Brighton.

Organised by the Brighton & Hove Athletic Club this is usually one of the top 10ks held in Sussex during the year and it is essentially a competitive race rather than the usual Charity or Commercial runs. A talented field of 2,500 runners has been received and forecast conditions are good albeit a light NE wind over the second half of the race.

This year it will introduce an Inter-county flavour as Tom Ulliott, on behalf of the Sussex County Association, has organised, with the Brighton Club an Inter-county match that has attracted most of the South East of England Counties including all the strong Surrey, Kent, Hampshire and Essex  teams.

This match however will be a little different as the team results will be decided on a combined male and female team with three of each sex to score.

At the time of going to press the Sussex “A” line-up will be Adam Clarke, Ross Skelton, Archie Davis and Max Dumbrell plus Beth Kidger, Emily Proto, Masie Trafford and Caroline Hoyte.

The race will start on the Madeira Drive at 9.30am.
