We move indoor this week with the Sussex Indoor championships at Sutton and the BUCS Indoor championships also attracting several Sussex athletes.
Numbers are a little down for the County event at Sutton which will be held in conjunction with the Surrey event and will be held on both Saturday (Track) and Sunday (Field) and after the establishment of Championships records last year it will be interesting to see how many of those survive this year’s batterings.
Several leading Sussex women will be in action at Sheffield including Lewes’s English Schools pole vault champion Livvy Connor (Birmingham) and she will be joined by Horsham’s Chloe Billingham (Cambridge).
Elise Lovell (Hastings) will be competing in both the 60m hurdles and long jump while, without the opportunity of racing 400m hurdles indoors Brighton & Hove Beth Close will be stepping down to 200m flat for Bath while club mate Iain Crowe-Wright will be running for Birmingham in the 1500m.
