Another busy weekend of Indoor Athletics was marked by medals in the Netherlands and Sheffield and county record in Glasgow.
At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn George Mills (Brighton Phoenix) secured a superb silver, while Amber Anning (Brighton & Hove) bounced back from a painful DQ for a lane infringement in her individual heat, to anchor the 4x4 relay team to silver.
Meanwhile in Sheffield at the England Athletics Age Group Combined Events and Junior Para Championships, Brighton & Hove’s Seren Rowe, won bronze in the under 15 girls pentathlon contest.
Over the five events, Seren secured SBs in the shot put and 800m as well as PBs in the high jump (1.59m) and 60m hurdles (9.94).
At the same competition, in the under 15 boys para category, Brighton Phoenix’s Fletcher Roberts won a bronze medal with a SB in the long jump as well as a massive 22 second 1500m PB with 6.25.73.
Under 17 triple jumper, Jaiten Best has had a storming indoor season and this carried on at the Glasgow Emirates Arena where the Brighton & Hove talent broke a 19 year Sussex AA county record leaping 12.17m.
