Indoor Internationals and S o E Cross Country

24 January, 2019 By Sussex AA

Three Sussex athletes are lined up for Indoor International competition for England over the next ten days.

On Saturday Brighton & Hove’s, Amber Anning, following her successful defence of her South of England U20 200m title, will be racing over 400m in Vienna and the following weekend she will be racing, again over 400 metres, in Iceland.

On Sunday George Mills (Brighton Phoenix), another South of England winner at Lee Valley at the weekend, will be racing over 800 metres in Bratislava alongside Saltdean’s, 60m hurdler, Cameron Fillery.

Southern Championships.

The main action this weekend will be at Hampstead Heath when the South of England Cross-country championships are held at Parliament Hill Fields.

This, one of the most notorious courses in the Country for Mud and Hills will probably be at its mildest following what has been a dry winter so far.

Brighton & Hove, who usually top the Sussex senior men’s teams at this event will be depleted by illness and injuries and this will pass the advantage to the Brighton Phoenix and Lewes squads to take advantage to head the Sussex teams.

There are a full range of age groups at this event and the Crawley u13 girls’ team, which can include the Surrey Wormley twins could well be the highest placed Sussex club following the afternoon’s racing.
