Due to the recent wet weather, we have had to negotiate some problems with the Hickstead managers, who wanted to cancel the event. In order to keep it afloat we have been obliged to move to a new course. We now have a much smaller area to play with and consequently have had to juggle with some of the distances for the various age groups. However, we think that everyone would rather have an event to contest, even if in some cases of a shorter length than normal, than have the event cancelled.
Would team managers and athletes, therefore, be aware that:
- Car parking will be as normal but please car share if possible and follow marshals directions at all times.
- In all probability some races will be a bit shorter than normal.
- Entries, refreshments and awards will be in the same place as usual, but there will be a short walk/jog to the competition field.
- Conditions underfoot will be wet and soft.
- COLLECT RUNNING NUMBERS ON YOUR WAY TO THE COURSE.
- Toilets will also be as normal, but some 300 metres from the start/finish area .
