Important Message from Sussex AA

Athletics is adapting to the 'new normal' but the track and field summer season has been decimated by the lockdown due to the pandemic.

Some of the county's tracks have managed to open for training, in a Covid secure environment, following UKA and government guidelines. However, many tracks are still closed.

UKA have published a revised 2020 calendar. The track season and age groups have been extended by one month until the end of October. Sussex AA is hoping to be able to host some track or field events in September, but it is dependent on the availability of officials and in the case of track, a qualified starte

Some of our clubs have been organising virtual events and inter-club competitions over 1-mile and 5k. We will be adding reports about these events shortly.

England Athletics have been running regular webinars, which are all available to view again, across a range of areas, from coaching, club support, sharing best practice, masterclasses, athlete interviews and courses. View some return to competition films here.

England Athletics updated its Covid-19 guidance for restricted return to activity on 4th August, to begin on Saturday 8th August.
