Marshals and helpers are needed for the Southern Counties Cross Country Championships to be held at Stanmer Park on Saturday 27th January.
Arena AC’s Mark Stephenson is part of the small organising team has done a great job at starting to recruit marshals for the event but he needs more than he can recruit from one club.
Stewards are needed for the officials’ car park, programme selling and similar duties. One specific requirement is for a car park steward at Moulsecoomb School to look after mini-bus parking.
We also need a couple of experienced endurance officials as they one short at present and have no reserves.
This is a plea from Sussex Athletics to all Sussex Clubs for help – If there is anyone who can help in any way please contact Mark Stephenson directly particularly if it is to volunteer as a marshal.
Mark’s Telephone number is 01273 324605 and his e-mail address is markstephenson1901@gmail.com
Anyone else that might be able to help in other capacities should contact Graham Jessop on grahamjessop@btinternet.com
In particular Graham is looking for a local group such as scouts or similar to help with litter picking.
The County has ordered six skips which will be strategically sited around the course. However, as everyone won’t use the bins he is looking for a team of about six to go round the site picking up loose litter.
If any local club, scouts or brownies or community organisation can help with this task SEAA will make a payment to thm for their services. He envisages a couple being on parade from about 11.00 a.m. and the full complement of six from 12.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.
If you know of a suitable group that can undertake the litter picking role please contact Graham directly.
