Charlie Da Vall Grice made a record breaking start to the New Year with some fine running indoor. It is a long time before we can really start worrying about places in the GB Olympic team, if they go ahead, but he certainly seems to be on the right trail.
Racing in the World Indoor tour in New York on Sunday over 1,000m he finished third behind Bryce Hoppel, who set a new North American record of 2:16.27s and Marco Arop who just squeezed the second place in 2:17.10s ahead of the Brighton Phoenix runner's 2;17.20s which broke the year old British record of 2:17.51s of Edinburgh’s Jake Wightman.
Earlier this month Charlie had clocked his second fastest 800m clocking 1:45.62s.
