Former Sussex athlete, rugby star James Lasis is on life support in hospital in France after undergoing emergency surgery for a severe neck injury sustained in a scrum collapse in a match on Sunday.
His family, Sussex and Sussex Schools AA stalwarts, Judy and Karl Lasis, and his brother Matthew are flying out to be with him.
James, 25, is now conscious and Judy said he is "being looked after very well at the Pasteur Hospital in Nice".
His rugby club, Nice, is setting up a crowdfunding page and we will share these details when we have them.
Our thoughts and love are with the Lasis family.
