It is with deep regret that we record the death of former Sussex champion Fiona Clark earlier this week.
Fiona, who was 41 has been a leading Sussex middle distance runner since she was in her teens and ran for Crawley and more recently Arena 80 and was the Sussex women’s cross-country champion in in 2010.
She had won many medals at Sussex Championship medals on the track, the road and cross-country and was still a force to be respected. She would frequently feature in the Sussex Top ten at distances from 1500m to the Half Marathon. She is still in the Sussex All-time Top Ten for both the track 10,000m and the Half Marathon, where she is fifth.
She will be missed, particularly in Sussex Cross Country League events.
Our thoughts are with her family and friends.
