It was better news for those competing in the European Cross Country Championships in Turkey where Eastbourne Rovers' Eleanor Strevens ran a storming race to finish a fantastic 6th.
This put her as third scorer in an impressive gold medal winning Great British under 20 women's team.
In the same age group men's race, Miles Waterworth (Brighton Phoenix) finished 18th (second under 20 male Great British finisher). The team missed out on a medal by just two points.
It was a proud team bronze medal for Brighton & Hove's Tomer Tarragano, who placed 19th overall and was third scorer in the senior men's race.
Well done to all three who made the journey to Antalya.
