End of Winter Season

31 March, 2017 By Sussex AA

The 2016/7 winter season officially comes to an end this weekend with the Sussex Road Relay Championships at Christs’ Hospital on Saturday.

Racing begins at 11.00 with the U13 girl’s event and they are followed by the U13 boys and then the U15 Girls and Boys race together at 12.00.

The senior and Veteran women start at 12.30 along with the U17 women and O60 men while the day will be completed at 12.30 by the Senior and U17 men along with the M40 and M50 men.

Although we will see virtually full strength teams in the Young Athlete age groups the clash with the forthcoming Track season and the Brighton and London Marathons in the next couple of weeks makes it difficult to field full strength senior teams.

I know that Brighton & Hove will be fielding a mainly young team in the senior men’s event so we can expect another Brighton Phoenix victory while Lewes, who have had an excellent winter in the senior women’s group will probably cap the season with another win.
