Lee Emanuel will be hoping for another medal in the European Indoor championships in Belgrade next month following his brilliant victory in the British Championships and Trials at Sheffield on Sunday.
The former Hastings runner, who now spends most of his time in America, seems to be in his element indoors had another excellent run to win the 3000m race in 7:55.91s more than a second clear of his nearest rival to qualify for the British team.
Spencer Thomas (Brighton Phoenix) had a good battle in the final of the 800m filling third place in 1:49.12s his fastest time to date indoors.
Shot putter Sam Heawood (Crawley) just missed a medal in his event heaving the shot 16.07m to take fourth place while another Hasting athlete, Elise Lovell set an Indoor personal best when she leapt 5.96m to take fifth place in the long jump with Crawley’s Surrey all-rounder Jo Rowland placing sixth with 5.49m.
In the 1,500m Robbie Fitzgibbons had a fine run but was squeezed into seventh place in the 1,500m in 3:50.53s.
