This Saturday's second Sussex AA Cross Country League fixture has been moved to Stanmer Park, Brighton, from Lancing as previously planned.
Due to the short notice, no additional parking has been secured. As a result we are asking, where possible, athletes and supporters to share cars or travel by public transport (Falmer train station is very close and buses stop just outside the park). There is unrestricted parking on the streets in the surrounding residential areas of Coldean and Wild Park in Moulescoomb. Please be considerate when doing this and be aware to leave about 20 minutes to walk to the park itself. Parking in the bottom car park at Stanmer itself will be limited to officials only.
We also need volunteers to help marshal the courses for the event to run smoothly. If any of your members etc can spare an hour or 2 please can they let me know as soon as possible.
Sussex AA apologises for any inconvenience this change may have caused. It was due to the park warden at Lancing, after an assessment on Wednesday, saying the races would be too damaging to the ground. We are pleased to have moved to Stanmer at such short notice as feel it is more important to have a fixture than cancel completely. Please bear with us and support us.
