Busy weekend for Sussex U15’s and Officials

30 August, 2018 By Sussex AA

It is a busy weekend for the leading Sussex U15 athletes who will be embroiled in the final of the Sussex Under 15 League at Withdean on Friday evening.

Crawley, the winners of the West Sussex Division and Brighton & Hove who won the East Sussex Division are expected to battle out are expect to battle for the title though last year Chichester sneaked through to take second team spot ahead of Brighton & Hove with Horsham Blue Star in fourth place. It was Crawley’s sixth victory in this event.

The Field events start at 6.15 and the Track events at 6.45.

The leading U15s will then be hot-footing it to Oxford on Saturday for the South of England Inter-county championships which are being held in conjunction with the U20 championships.

This fixtures is really too late in the season, though it is one week earlier than last year, and all teams will find it difficult to field representative teams because of holidays and many athletes, particularly the U20s will have already completed their seasons.

There is no rest for the Officials however as on Sunday the Sussex U13 league final will be held at

The K2 Leisure Centre at Crawley starting at 12.30 for the field events and 1.00 for the track events.

In a nail biting finish last year Brighton & Hove took the title narrowly ahead of Crawley, with Horsham finishing in third place and Chichester fourth place.

Teams from Brighton Phoenix, Eastbourne, East Grinstead, Haywards Heath, Lewes and Worthing will also be competing in both the U15 on Friday evening and U13 Finals.
