The British League third round matches are being held this weekend with Crawley in Division two travelling just a few miles to the Kingsmeadow track at Kingston.
In the second round the Crawley team had a very close match and were squeezed into seventh team spot but will be hoping to repeat, at least, their fourth placing in the first round.
In Division four Brighton & Hove will be aiming for similar placing in their match at Bracknell where they have placed fourth in their first two rounds.
On Sunday the Crawley women’s team will be at Lee Valley for their second round match in Division one. They will aim to improve on their first round placing of eighth place.
Also on Sunday the Sussex U13 and Quad Kids championships will be held at Withdean
Generally the most enthusiastic of all the Sussex Championships. It is here where we first see many of the athletes who are going to be the Top Sussex performers in the next few years and although many may fall by the wayside most of the leading Sussex senior athletes have come through the U13 competitions.
Certain to draw attention are Cleo Tomlinson (Horsham) who broke the long standing Sussex U13 long jump record earlier in the season and Anouska Fairhurst (Lewes) who set a new county Javelin record and presently sits top of the UK rankings.
The meeting starts at 10.45.
