The British Championships and World trials in Birmingham this weekend, will see the nation's top athletes battling for titles and coveted Doha places.
Several Sussex athletes are making the trip to the Midlands. Brighton Phoenix's Charlie Da'Vall Grice is three seconds faster than the next best UK 1500m runner this year, after his sparkling 3:30.62 Steve Ovett record-slaying run in July. Grice last won an outdoor British 1500m title in 2016. However, with four other athletes with the qualifying standard, including Josh Kerr and Jake Wightman, he will be aiming to secure his ticket to Doha with a victory.

Saltdean's Cameron Fillery has broken the Sussex 110m hurdles record five times this summer. He is presently ranked second in the UK with 13.54s but will need to run nearly a second quicker to achieve the Doha standard of 13.46s.
Double England and Manchester International sprint gold medallist, Crawley's Kimbely Baptiste is competing in the 100 and 200m.
Several of the county's leading under-20 athletes have also been invited to the championships. Crawley's English Schools' 400m hurdles bronze medallist and this year's Southern under-20 silver medallist, Jessica Lambert, will be donning her spikes on a British track for the last time in 2019, before she leaves to study in the USA. Her club mate and southern bronze 400m hurdles medallist, Grace Vans Agnew is running in the flat 400m.
