Both the Brighton & Hove and Crawley teams opened with winning performances at last Saturday’s Lower Age Group (U13s and U15s) in the Youth Development League.
In 'West One' at K2, Crawley scored a stonking win totalling 623 points when they stormed well clear of Guildford and Godalming’s 499 points. Horsham Blue Star placed third, of the seven competing clubs, with 440 points.
Brighton & Hove also produced a comfortable win at Medway Park in 'East One,' scoring 564 points to the home club’s 517, while Lewes lost third place by just ten points to Ashford who scored 388 points. The Orion and Basildon clubs were not far behind in fifth and sixth place.
At the Withdean Stadium in the 'East Two' match there was a great battle between three Sussex teams but they could not match Newham/Essex Beagles’s 605 points or Bexley’s 512 points.
Worthing, the host club, filled third place with 437 points with Hastings scoring 427 points and East Grinstead 413 points in fifth place.
