Act now to Save Sussex’s Only Indoor Track from Demolition

19 September, 2016 By Sussex AA

Please try and help save Sussex’s only indoor athletics facility, the Tube at Broadbridge Heath Leisure Centre in Horsham. The District Council has submitted plans to redevelop the centre which propose that 60% of the Tube is demolished and the indoor track turned into a storage facility.

This track is used by hundreds of Horsham Blue Stars athletes, and is also a base for Olympians  - discus thrower Jade Lally and 400m Hurdler Seb Rodgers as well as numerous other athletes from across the county, school groups and other sports including archery.

Sussex AA hosts training squads and Master classes at the Tube and anyone who has trained as a coach, assistant coach or Leader in Running Fitness in recent years has attended an England Athletics course there.

Please don’t let this happen without a fight. There are only a couple of days left to object. You can do so via this link:

You can post comments in on-line (you need to register), or it may be simpler just to email them to: planning@horsham.gov.uk quoting the reference DC/16/1844 as the subject of the email.
