Sussex Cross-country silver medallist Tom Evans of Lewes AC has become the first European runner to get in the top three in the notorious Marathon Sables in Morocco.

Evans became the first British runner to achieve a podium place in the 32-year history of the race.
Full details and confirmation of places are still awaited though the leading positions have been confirmed.
Over in Philadelphia, where the temperature was not so hot, Sussex athletes Rebecca Moore and Chloe Billingham were in action for the Oxford and Cambridge team in their match against Princetown and Cornell.
Both athletes attend Cambridge and Moore from Chichester finished second in the 5,000m 16:52.53s while Billingham cleared 3.60m to finish fifth in the pole vault.
