The accent is again on Schools athletics this weekend and Crawley’s K2 Leisure where the South East Schools Inter-county match is being held on Saturday.
It will be very much a case of David against three Goliaths as Sussex will be facing the power of the Kent, Hampshire and Surrey teams.
The match, which only includes the U15 (Junior) and U17 (Intermediate) age groups, will be watched by the Sussex Schools selectors as they need to finalise the team that will be representing Sussex at the English Schools championships at Birmingham next month.
For the leading Sussex Under 20 athletes their venue will be Bedford and the England U20 championships which are being held in conjunction with the Under 23 championships on both Saturday and Sunday.
Hopefully there will be good Sussex representation in both age groups.
On Sunday most Sussex clubs will be involved in the third round of the Lower Age Group of the National Youth Development League and they will be spread at venues throughout the Southern Counties.
