Archie Davis made a good fist of his senior international debut in the European Indoor Championships at Torun in Poland.
Running in a hard run fourth heat of the 1500 metres the 24 year old Brighton Phoenix runner tucked in with a group of six runners who set off at a good pace.
The pace did not ease and over a desperate battle over the final lap he was squeezed back into sixth place in a season’s best of 3:41.40s, a second outside his personal best, which he would have had to clock to make the final.
