Phoenix women's team consisting of Beth Kidger, Tara Bage and Cat Bounds are the National 10k Team Champions.
The race was incorporated into the Brighton Marathon 10k, where Kidger ran a personal best of 33:57 for 7th place overall. With fine back up from Bage in 37:25 and Bounds in 39:19 the trio gained the Team title in a time of 1:50.41.
They had to beat off a strong challenge from Hastings AC. An in-form Lizzie Clarke ran an excellent 34:28, and with Rachael Mulvey in 36:18 and Jenna French in 40:19 they had a combined time of 1:51.05 just 24 seconds behind Phoenix.
It was a great day for both Phoenix and Hastings and for Sussex.
