The near perfect weather conditions at the Crawley AC open may well have contributed to one of longest ever javelin throws by an under-13 British athlete.
Brighton's Dulcie Yelling first broke the county javelin record in 2018, when she threw 37.64m.
At K2 on Easter Saturday, she improved this mark by almost two metres launching her spear out to 39.57m.
Only one under-13 British girl has ever thrown further and that was just last year when Hannah Lewington (Swindon) set the All-Time record of 41.66m.
Chasing this distance will, no doubt, be a goal for Yelling this season.
